- Cranial Osteopathy was developed by William Garner Sutherland (1828-1917) in the U.S., and from there, was slowly spreading throughout Europe. France was one of the locations where had higher importance. The aim of the study is to determine the current use of Cranial Osteopathy in "Ile de France". A questionnaire about various aspects of the cranial practice where distribute. 320 questionnaires were sent and 58 were answered. 50 were finally included in the study. The results indicate a high presence of cranial methods in daily practice, Cranial Osteopathy its use in all patients and pathologies and compared to other approaches, Cranial Osteopathy has equal or better results.
- Abstract
- La osteopatía craneal fue desarrollada por William Garner Sutherland (1828-1917) en los EEUU, y desde allí fue expandiéndose lentamente por Europa. Francia fue uno de los lugares en los que experimentó una mayor difusión. Con este estudio se pretende conocer el uso actual de la osteopatía craneal en “Ile de France”. Para ello, se distribuyó un cuestionario de 15 preguntas acerca de distintos aspectos de la práctica craneal. Se enviaron 320 cuestionarios y se obtuvieron 58 respuestas, de las cuáles 50 se incluyeron finalmente en el estudio. Los resultados indican una elevada presencia de los métodos craneales en la práctica diaria en la región de estudio, su uso en todo tipo de pacientes y patologías, y unos resultados iguales o mejores respecto a otros enfoques.
