Supraspinatus Tendonitis is one of the most frequented pathologies in
traumatology as well as one of the most complex to treat.
The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the patients’ symptoms treated
with TBA were relieved faster than those treated with physical therapy.
A total of 20 patients were treated. 10 of them received a TBA treatment
while the other 10 were treated with TENS for 20 minutes and a 1,2MHz
ultrasound for 5 minutes.
The studied variables were: the pain felt by the patients and the balance and
joint mobility. Variables were analysed pre and post treatment using VAS to
measure the pain and Goniometry for the joint mobility. The patients’
improvement assessed was specific for one of the two treatments given.
The results suggested that the improvement was higher in patients treated
with TBA than in patients treated with TENS and ultrasound.
The main conclusion of the study is that TBA is more effective and its results
in a first session for the Supraspinatus Tendonitis treatment are better than
TENS and ultrasound treatment. - Abstract

La tendinitis del supraespinoso es una de las patologías más frecuentes a
nivel traumatológico, siendo a su vez una de las patologías más complejas
de tratar.
El objetivo para realizar este estudio fue valorar si realizando un tratamiento
con TBA los pacientes mejoraban su sintomatología, ya que con otros
tratamientos como la fisioterapia normalmente los pacientes mejoran muy
lentamente.
Se trataron un total de 20 pacientes de los cuales 10 pacientes se les realizó
tratamiento con TBA y los otros 10 pacientes un tratamiento con TENS
durante 20 minutos y ultrasonido continuo a 1,2 MHz durante 5 minutos.
Las variables que valoramos en los pacientes fue el dolor y el balance
articular. Para ello realizamos la escala de EVA para valorar el dolor y
goniometrías para valorar el balance articular, antes y después del
tratamiento. Solo se valoró la mejora de cada paciente durante un
tratamiento.
Los resultados indicaron que los pacientes que mejoraban más después de
la sesión fueron los pacientes tratados con TBA, siendo muy poca la mejor
de los pacientes tratados con TENS y ultrasonido.
Como conclusión general, podemos decir que la técnica de TBA es efectiva
y da buenos resultados en la primera sesión en un paciente que padece de
tendinitis del supraespinoso. - presented at
