- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to see if doing a CVC joint mobilization or pelvic mobilization to influence the cervical spine through the body Adjustment and polygons of forces could improve subacute mechanical neck pain. We recruited a total of 10 patients randomly divided into two experimental groups. One group developed a joint mobilization of the cervical spine whilst the other one did a pelvic joint mobilization to influence the cervical spine. To find out which treatment was more effective for mechanical neck pain we used two different questionnaires, the neck disability index to assess the quality of life of patients and the visual analogue scale for pain intensity. Both groups showed improvement in dysfunction, pain intensity and quality of life but the group that developed the joint mobilization of the cervical spine obtained better results. However, the results were not statistically significant due to the limited sample that we had. We recommend doing more similar studies with a larger sample.

- El propòsit d’aquest estudi va ser comprovar si fent una mobilització de la columna cervical o una mobilització de la pelvis per influir en la columna cervical, mitjançant el body adjustment i els polígons de forces, podíem millorar el dolor cervical mecànic subagut . Es va reclutar un total de 10 pacients dividits aleatòriament en dos grups experimentals. En un grup es va fer una mobilització de la columna cervical i en l’altre un treball articular de la pelvis per influir en la columna cervical. Per saber quin tractament era més efectiu pel dolor cervical mecànic, es van utilitzar dos qüestionaris, l’índex de discapacitat cervical per avaluar la qualitat de vida dels pacients i l’escala visual analògica per la intensitat del dolor. Ambdós grups van presentar millora en les disfuncions, la intensitat del dolor i la qualitat de vida. El grup tractat amb el treball articular de la columna cervical és el que va mostrar millors resultats. Tot i així, els resultats no van ser estadísticament significatius degut a la poca mostra de la que disposàvem. Es recomana realitzar més estudis similars amb una població més gran
