- Abstract
- The aim of this project is to observe and analyze the effect of the osteopathictechniques on changes of hematies, leucocytes and on the spleen size in a patient ofTMj suffering a significant leukopenia the year prior to the beginning of theosteopathic treatment and with a very high possibility of being splenectomized.The osteopathic work has been performed during a year and a half, with afrequency of 5 weeks performing a total of 18 treatments, the release of thediaphragm being taken into account as well as the elements of subjection of thespleen, through the splenic artery and the venous drainage through the portalsystem. Once the vascular system was released, the mobility and motility of thespleen as main organ has been worked.The results obtained have been statistically significant for the leucocytes but notstatistically significant for the hematies. The improvement in the patient’sleucocytes levels, as of today between a normal value, for the moment ruling outthe need of a splenectomy.As a conclusion, we can state that by releasing the spleen with the osteopathictechniques, the number of leucocytes has been improved in the patient, thehematies haven’t had any significant improvement, and that the functioning of thespleen has also been improved.

- L’objectiu d’aquest projecte és observar i analitzar l’efecte de les tècniquesosteopàtiques sobre les variables d’hematies, leucòcits i sobre la mida de la melsaen un pacient afectat de ß-Talasemia Major (TMj) que patia una leucopèniaimportant l’any anterior de l’iniciï del tractament osteopàtic i amb una possibilitatmolt alta de ser esplenectomitzatEl treball osteopàtic s’ha realitzat durant un any i mig, amb una freqüència de 5setmanes efectuant un total de 18 tractaments i s’ha tingut molt presentl’alliberació del diafragma, els elements de subjecció de la melsa, l’aport vascular através de l’arteria esplènica i el drenatge venós a través del sistema porta. Un cophavent alliberat el sistema vascular, s’ha treballat amb la mobilitat i motilitat de lamelsa com a òrgan principal.Els resultats obtinguts han estat estadísticament significatius per el nivell deleucòcits i no significatius per els hematies. A data d’avui els valors de leucòcitsestan dins de la normalitat i queda descartada, de moment, l’esplenectomia.Com a conclusió podem dir que alliberant la melsa amb les tècniques osteopàtiquess’ha millorat el número de leucòcits del pacient, els hematies no han tingut capmillora significativa i s’ha millorat la mida de la melsa.
