Abstract
Introduction: patients affected by irritable bowel syndrome experience changes in their life and sleep quality. The objective of this study was to show the state between osteopatic treated patients and no treated ones.Method: an observational prevalence study was conducted involving twelve subjects with SCI divided into: a group A, exposed to osteopathic treatment and group B without treatment. Sleep quality (CS) and quality of life (CV) were assessed with the IBS- QOL questionnaire and severity of symptoms (SS) with the IBSSS questionnaire. To perform the statistical part, IBM SPSS was used.
Results:regarding SS, in group A, 8.3% were mild, while 25% were moderate. In group B, 41.7% were moderate.
Regarding CV, in group A were 25% with altered life, and 8,3% with bad quality of life. In group B, 8.3% bad quality and 50% very altered.
In CS, in group A, 25% were altered while 8.3% have bad quality. In group B, 33.3% had very altered sleep quality.
Conclusion: statistics shows that there is a significant relationship between osteopathic treatment and CV but there is no relationship with the CS and the SS.
Abstract
Introducción: los pacientes afectados de Síndrome de Colon Irritable (SCI) presentan alteraciones en calidad de vida y sueño.
El objetivo fue plasmar el estado de pacientes que fueron tratados con osteopatía vs no tratados.
Método:se realizó un estudio de prevalencia donde participaron doce sujetos con SCI formando: grupo A, expuesto a tratamiento osteopático y grupo B, no expuesto a tratamiento. Se valoró calidad de sueño (CS) y calidad de vida (CV) con el cuestionario IBS-QOL y severidad de los síntomas (SS) con IBSSS.
Para realizar la estadística se utilizó IBM SPSS.
Resultados: respecto a SS, en el grupo A, 8,3% de los pacientes se encontraban leve y 25% moderados. En el grupo B, 41,7% moderado.
En cuanto a CV, en el grupo A hubo un 25% con la calidad alterada y un 8,3% con mala calidad. En el grupo B, 8,3% mala calidad y un 50% muy alterada.
En CS, en el grupo A, un 25% la tuvo alterada frente al 8,3% con mala calidad. En el grupo B, un 33,3% tuvo calidad del sueño muy alterada.
Conclusión:la estadística demostró que hubo relación significativa positiva entre el tratamiento osteopático y la CV, pero no con la CS y la SS.
