Study Design
philosophical analysis of rationalism, phenomenology, theology and vitalism in relation to the living body and physical body
Outline/Problem Definition
Osteopathy is also a philosophy. That means that an osteopath should have an philosophical rapprochement to the physical and lived body
Research Question & Objective
What does HEIL (salvation, wellbeing etc.)or HEILUNG (healing)mean in different contexts.
How can the meaning of the two words be linked with the physical/living body?
Hypothesis
osteopathic philosophy means to work with the space of the physical body and the living/lived body.
Relevance for the Patients
the patient is more than a physical body. the osteopath has the possibility to look at the patient in a whole
Relevance for Osteopathy
the osteopath can dig on also in his/her philosophical understanding and what does it mean, to be in contact with the space of the patient
Methodology
philosophical analysis in relation to the pneuma model in different systems (theology/philosophy/psychology)
Results
in history of the society we have a great change since 1850, which forgets our ostepathic roots to the philosophy of space
Critical Reflection/Perspectives/Conclusions
There are too much aspects to discuss and so the thesis can be only a platform for several ideas and finally it needs more philosophical understaning of the whole. I hope, that I could give some philosophical reflections in spite of my little understanding.
