Hintergrund: Rheumatoide Arthritis (RA) gehört zum
rheumatischen Formenkreis und ist eine systemische Erkrankung, die den ganzen
Körper betreffen kann.

Ziel: Überprüfung der Forschungsfrage
ob mittels Osteopathie bei Patientinnen/Patienten
mit RA die aktuellen Schmerzen und der Gesundheitszustand, gemessen anhand des
HAQ-Fragebogens und des SF-MPQ Fragebogens, verbessert werden können.

Methode: Die Versuchsgruppe (A) (n=14) erhielt drei allgemein osteopathische
Behandlungen (Black-Box-Verfahren) im Abstand von zwei Wochen. Die
Kontrollgruppe (B) (n=14) erhielt drei Behandlungstermine mit 16 Minuten am
Magnetfeld, welches nicht eingeschaltet wurde. 
Es wurden zwei Messzeitpunkte durchgeführt; der erste Messzeitpunkt vor
der ersten Behandlung und der zweite Messzeitpunkt nach der dritten Behandlung.
Als Messparameter wurde der HAQ-Fragebogen (Health Assessment Questionnaire) für
den Gesundheitszustand und der SF-MPQ-Fragebogen (Short-Form McGill Pain
Questionnaire) für die aktuellen Schmerzen von Patientinnen/Patienten mit RA
verwendet.

Ergebnisse: Beim
SF-MPQ-Fragebogen bei Frage 2 (p = 0,03028), Frage 8 (p = 0,01484) und Frage 10 (p =
0,01728) kann eine statistisch signifikante Verbesserung in Bezug auf den Schmerz
bei RA nachgewiesen werden. Beim HAQ-Fragebogen bei Frage 74 (p=0,04806) kann eine statistische Signifikanz nachgewiesen werden. Ein
Einfluss der osteopathischen Behandlung auf den Gesundheitszustand und die
aktuellen Schmerzen von Patientinnen/Patienten mit RA kann teils nachgewiesen
werden. Somit wurde die
Forschungsfrage nicht bestätigt.

Diskussion: Weitere Forschung mit einer größeren
Studiengruppe ist erforderlich.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) belongs to the rheumatic
group and is a systemic disease that can affect the whole body.

Aim: Review of the research question whether osteopathy on patients with
RA can improve the current pain and health status, measured by using the HAQ
questionnaire and the SF-MPQ questionnaire.

Method: The experimental group (A) (n=14) received three
general osteopathic treatments (black box method) at an interval of two weeks.
The control group (B) (n=14) received three treatment appointments with 16
minutes in the magnetic field, which was not switched on. Two mesasurement time
points were performed; the 1st measurement time point before the 1st treatment
and the 2nd measurement time point after the 3rd treatment. The HAQ
questionnaire (Health Assessment Questionnaire) for the health status and the
SF-MPQ questionnaire (Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire) for the current
pain of patients with RA were used as measuring parameters.

Results: For
the SF-MPQ questionnaire at question 2 (p = 0.03028), question 8 (p = 0.01484)
and question 10 (p = 0.01728) a statistically significant improvement can be demonstrated
in relation to pain with RA. For the HAQ questionnaire a statistical significance can be
demonstrasted for question 74 (p=0,04806). An influence of osteopathic
treatment on the health status and current pain of patients with RA can partly
be proven. Therefore, the research question was not confirmed.

Conclusion: Further research is needed with a larger study group.
