Hintergrund: In der Osteopathie
stellt die Kommunikation ein Schlüsselelement für eine funktionierende
Therapeut*innen - Patient*innen – Beziehung dar. Diese kann, bewusst oder
unbewusst, einen Placebo- oder Noceboeffekt mit sich bringen, der sich positiv
oder negativ auf das Behandlungsergebnis auswirkt.

Ziel: Ziel dieser Literaturarbeit ist es herauszufinden,
welche Verhaltensweisen, die sowohl die verbale als auch die nonverbale
Kommunikation umfassen, sich positiv auf den Therapieerfolg auswirken und welche
es zu vermeiden gilt.

Studiendesign und Methode:
Die vorliegende Arbeit ist eine Literaturarbeit auf Basis einer systematischen
Literatursuche in der Meta-Datenbank „PubMed“.

Ergebnisse: Es konnten
positive und negative Effekte von verbaler und nonverbaler Kommunikation
aufgezeigt werden.

Diskussion: Osteopath*innen
sollten in Hinblick auf die Rolle der*des Kommunikator*in gezielt auf den
Einsatz verbaler und nonverbaler Kommunikationstechniken geschult werden, um
durch das Hervorrufen von Placeboeffekten den Therapieerfolg positiv zu
beeinflussen.

Background: In osteopathy, communication is a key element for a
functioning therapist-patient relationship. Communication, conscious or
unconscious, can lead to a placebo or nocebo effect with an impact on the
treatment results. In order to guarantee the best possible treatment, osteopaths
should also be informed about the effects of verbal and non-verbal
communication techniques and be able to consciously integrate their use into
therapy.

Aim: The aim of this work is to find out which behavioral
pattern concerning the verbal and nonverbal communication, have a positive
impact on the osteopathic therapy and which pattern should be avoided.

Study design and methods: The present work is based on a non-empirical
literature research, which was mainly carried out on the meta-database
"PubMed".

Results: Positive and negative effects of verbal and non-verbal
communication could be demonstrated.

Discussion: Osteopaths
in the role of communicators could be trained in communications skills to learn
how to improve the therapeutic effect by using placebo and avoiding nocebo.
